What is Tapu (TAPU) and what is this document for?
TAPU is a document that is an official confirmation that real estate in Turkey really belongs to you. After the agreement is signed, the agency accompanying the transaction will submit TAPU for processing, having previously received a power of attorney from the client.

What information does Tapu in Turkey include?
This document reflects the following data:
1. Detailed indication of the territorial location of the object.
2. Number of the plot on which the subject of the transaction is located.
3. Total area.
4. Cost according to the cadastre and purpose of the object.
5. Boundaries.
6. The size of the share of the total area.
7. Floor, if we are talking about a room in a multi-story building and the room number.
8. Information about the previous owner and the reason for the change of ownership.
9. Current owner.
10. The exact date of formation of TAPU (coincides with the date of the transaction).
11. Signature of the Head of the Tapu Department. Often the document is signed not by the boss, but by persons authorized by him, this is normal.

How much does Tapu cost in Turkey?
The cost of TAPU largely depends on the value of the property you purchased and can range from 1,500 to 2,500 Euros . This amount includes:
1. Registration of the document itself, cadastral fee, cadastral examination, services of a sworn translator present at the transaction (a mandatory condition for foreigners)
2. ISKAN design. This document is an analogue of a technical passport for a real estate property.
3. 4% property tax.
4. Registration (re-registration) of contracts for the supply of water, electricity, gas to the new owner of the property.

What is Tapu essentially?
Tapu (TAPU) establishes and secures the legal and indisputable (not disputed, including in court) ownership of the property to the legal owner. There are no time limits on ownership. In simple terms, such a document conclusively shows that the property has passed from the seller to the buyer and the latter has become its new legal owner.

How long will it take to complete a Tapu?
If the housing that is the subject of the transaction was already owned by foreigners, then registration of TAPU will require from 3 to 6 days . From the moment of submitting documents for consideration to the issuance of the document itself in the name of the new owner.
