According to the results of the early booking of the 2018 season, the demand for tours to Turkey among the British beats records.
British tourists are actively buying up tours for summer holidays in Turkey, reported the British Association of travel agencies (ABTA). According to the Association, early booking figures this year may be closer to the record for the British market in 2015.
As of December 2017, tourists from the UK booked tours to Turkey for the summer of 2018 by 69 percent more than a year ago for the same period. According to ABTA, this year Turkey can be visited by more than 2.5 million tourists from the UK.
According to the Association of Turkish travel agencies (TÜRSAB), 2.512 million tourists from the UK visited Turkey in 2015. In 2016, the figure was 1.711 million, in 2017 – 1.658 million.
The ABTA report, published late last year, States that travel agencies such as TUI and Jet2holidays have registered a record number of sales of tours to Turkey.
As Thomas Cook reported in early February, this year the number of people wishing to spend their vacation in Turkey has increased. The head of the Board of Directors of Thomas Cook Peter Fankhauser noted that Turkey this year is one of the popular tourist destinations.
